A National Lumber Grades Authority (NLGA)-accredited agency, the QFIC is one of the largest lumber grading agencies in Canada. It brings together the main lumber producers in Québec—specifically, 114 members who operate 163 sawmills. These member firms account for more than 90% of Québec's lumber production. To determine the quality, and hence the value, of a given product, Québec lumber manufacturers adhere to stringent, internationally recognized, grading standards.
